Our beautiful horses are very special. They have power and perception, sensitivity and rhythm making them a symbol of nobility, a source of inspiration and beauty to all our riders. They inspire feelings that activate intuitive behavior giving strength to conquer, possess, ennoble, dream and fantasize. Their rhythmic movements and sensory interpretations, act as a living exercise apparatus stimulating our bodies in a total exercise program.
Abir, (1996), color grey, born in Israel to the same mother as Dance (a half bred Conemara x thoroughbred. His father was French warm blood, who became a well-known show jumping stallion here in Israel. Abir has a strong personality; he enjoys being ridden well. He has competed in dressage and show jumping events. Abir is a real asset to the center. Last year he was lent to one of our instructor for three weeks so that she could gain her (A) certificate in able bodied riding. He is now working with the disabled giving them a very good ride. One of his habits is that he likes to throw his feed bucket out of his box as soon as he has finished feeding!
Dance, (1997), color grey, born in Israel; her mother is a half bred conemara x thoughbred. Her father was an Irish thoroughbred steeple chaser who won several races in his life in Germany. Dance is a very large horse with a generous heart. She is extremely easy and comfortable to ride. She does not get disturbed by any excessive noise, or other animals. She is sensitive to touch and can make awful faces if she is not brushed with care. When she is in her box she likes to be left alone. Dance workis very well with nervous riders and those who are severely disabled.
Jerry, (1997), color flaxen gold, is a pure bred Haflinger (cold Blood) who was born in Holland. Jerry has spent most of her life helping children to learn to ride. She had one short break from this where she spent time pulling a carriage. Jerry has a wonderful movement and has becomeone of the best Hippo therapy horses at INTRA.
Pocahontas, (1998), color brown and white, born in Israel, she is a ¾ quarter horse ¼ thoroughbred. Poky, as she is known, is a most wonderful riding horse who is loved by adults and children alike. She has helped many riders regain confidence in themselves.
Robin, (1990), color white, born in England, a pure Welsh horse. Robin is fully trained for dressage riding and therefore gives all the children a wonderful ride. Robin is a wee-loved member of our team, helping so many severely disabled children enjoy horse back riding.
Kirby (Sean), (1999), dark brown and white, born in Israel a mixture of Arab and English riding horse. As a young horse he needs a very active training program. He is a fairly new member to our team and has just started work giving some of our challenged riders an excellent ride eventhough he bothers other horses when they go out together in the field.
Smoky, color black, born in Israel, age unknown. He was born on the Golan Heights and started his working life as a trail horse. When he came to INTRA, he not only gave the most disabled a good ride, but was able to exceed at dressage and jumping. He competed for two sessions as a dressage horse, being well placed. Smoky continues with the same work. He just has one annoying habit that is kicking his door for attention; and then often following up this action by getting out of his box! He then proceeds to unlock other horse’s doors when ever he gets out. Smoky is a real favorite at the center.

Chika – Chikolina Boss, Chika is an 8 year old Palomino Quarter Horse. She is an amazing therapeutic horse that loves kids even more than horses and is always happy to help adults as well. She was originally a reining horse and is able to do almost everything you ask of her, if you only ask politely enough. Chika has recently become a mother and is currently on maternity leave but she will be back to her routine very soon.

Fiona is a 48 inch, 20 year old Welsh pony, originally from the northern part of Israel. All her life, Fiona helped kids learn to ride and is now at our farm using her experience with INTRA. While on our farm, Fiona has realized that our Horse Hairdresser is a top stylist and she loves the expert maintenance work she receives on her thick winter hair. She is truly an animal of great beauty and athletic ability with a very friendly personality.

Big Mama is an 8 year old purebred Austrian Haflinger who made aliyah by boat to work and live at INTRA. She is 57 inches tall and full of patience. Mama is exceptionally good with the heavyweight riders and disabled kids. She loves to challenge the able, more professional riders and tests them while they ride or compete. She especially enjoys getting out of her halter and going for walks around the farm.
Samson is a 6 year old pure Palomino Quarter Horse. He was trained to be a reining horse and competed for many years. On our farm, Samson teaches us a lot about western riding while he helps us with our therapeutic work. He is actually so good that he uses a bitless bridle. Samson is an amazingly calm horse but if the chance arises and he manages to get loose, we all need to work very hard to catch him.

Nestor is 7 years old and comes from a long line of cutting horses (horses that work with cattle). Nestor is patient, relaxed and enjoys working at therapeutic lessons. However, once an experienced rider mounts him, the rider really has to convince Nestor to work for him. Nestor is a very good teacher! His good friend is named Smokey. Sometimes Nestor is jealous when Smokey gets more attention than him, but they really do love playing together.

Pedro is a 58 inch, 8 year old local horse. He is a relatively new horse on our farm. When he came to INTRA, we saw that he was a very shy and timid horse by nature. But, Pedro is also a smart horse who learns quickly. He is learning that INTRA is a safe and warm place to be and he has started to open up to his rider friends. His best friend on the farm, however, is the new pony, Fiona, and he seems very comforted when she is around him.

Lolinda (Lola) is a Dutch Warmblood horse that came from Europe. She is very well-trained, calm and always gives safe, enjoyable rides to both adults and kids. Whoever rides her always falls in love with her. Only 14 years old, she is a great learner and has a wonderful connection with her riders. One small secret about her - she has a great love for sugar cubes. Although we try to limit her treats, sometimes when no one notices, she gets a cube or two.
In loving memory of
Pilgrim
